MY PROFILE

NAME: Vanzetti Navarro López
AGE: 23
I was born in Mexico City on February 24th 1985; I’ve lived in Coyoacán since then, whoever read this I want to say that I consider myself as a serious person, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t talk to anybody, I mean I like to have friends, work with them and also have fun.
Currently I’m studying law at UNAM, at the moment I just have selected my specialty because according to my major I need to specialize in one area of study.
I must say that I really like my major it’s so challenging and of course at this point(8th semester) there is no going back, for that reason I have to be prepared to confront the challenges that are coming in a near future. So, as you can realize I have to study very hard, most people think that my major is easy; it’s pointless (as law in Mexico is so corrupted and politicized) because lawyers are real criminals, liars, cheaters, etc. and that’s true in the most of the cases.
I love law, the principles that it contains, the multiple subjects, I think that my major is so complex because we study a lot of topics, there’s something new to learn to study, as the society changes, the law must change; it’s always evolving in order to make progress. So imagine, I barely have time to spend with my friends, nevertheless when I can be around them I really like to have fun, I enjoy going lunch or dinner, even go to a cinema.
I think that life is short, and keeping that in mind I really like to go outside of my routine I love parties, reunions, trips, etc. I mean I really enjoy doing new things, meeting people, seeing places, being with my girlfriend, etc.
My interests in the near future are: to finish my major, also I want to work in the public service, however if I can study a Master’s Degree I’ll certainly do it, that’s the reason why I’m studying English, I would like to get a scholarship in order to be in exchange in any university in Europe to be updated and obviously to travel around and learn about life.

LETTER TO A CANADIAN

Hi:
My name is Vanzetti Navarro López; I’m currently in the 8th semester of my major, as I write this letter I want to ask you a few questions about your opinion of Mexico and its people:
What is your impression of Mexico City?
Do you like what you’ve seen?
I ask you these questions, because I’ve been told that you’re coming in a exchange, and as a foreigner it would be nice to me that you let me know your impressions, and I assume that perhaps you want to know things about my country, and of course I would be glad if I can answer all of them.
I don’t know, I’m not good at writing letters (as you can see) but maybe if we meet, hopefully it would be more interesting, I mean; I rather prefer to talk than writing, and of course; to me it’s very important to see you and speak spontaneously by anything, maybe you agree with this, to me is easier and obviously more fun.
Well, I hope to meet you very soon or at least to know anything from you, and hopefully you may be able to read these words

Sincerely your new Mexican friend: Vanz

MY EXPECTATIONS¡¡

First of all I would like to explain that I was unable to find another group, and I find myself a little bit impressed about your way to do things. I mean isn’t in a bad way but in a good way. So about these things “projects” I truly find them as a challenge; I mean you look like a real English teacher, I see it, I believe that you’re committed with your job and besides you really enjoy it.

So, all these words are pointed to express that I’ll do my best to do things right, I really want to improve my English (all the skills) and improving writing is one of the things that will help me to do it. I think that this course will make a difference, you see; in the previous levels I couldn’t realize if I was making a progress, I mean; I did the topics, the evaluations, but I’m not really sure if I have develop some new abilities, etc.

For all this I need to stay in this group, I’ll try to make an effort to arrive early and hope that when the proof reading stage has already happened, my progress in the edition part will be noticed…
